Because I'm seeing claims like "use fees for government services are a regressive tax on the poor": Any subsidies of automobile impacts are a *huge* tax on the poor, paid for in health, injuries, and the ways in which this mandates car ownership. If we don't make owning a car incredibly expensive and difficult, we're just gonna continue building auto-only environments which exclude the people who can't afford a car from our communities.
